About Ogig and Ping
What is Ogig?
Ogig is a live map of service providers, vendors and mobile sellers. You can send a Ping for what you need, browse who is nearby, chat and book.
What is a Ping?
A Ping is a request you send from the map: a plumber, a cleaner, a mechanic, or a food craving such as fresh juice. Only matching providers near you can see it, and the first to claim it opens a chat with you.
How do I send a Ping?
Open the map, tap Ping, choose Service or Food, pick a category or type what you need, choose how long it stays live, and tap Send Ping. Sign in or create an account first.
How long does a Ping last, and who can see it?
You choose, from 30 minutes to 24 hours. It expires by itself. Only providers or vendors whose service matches and who are near you can see it. A provider who claims it sees what you asked for and the location you sent it from.
What if nobody claims my Ping?
It stays live until it expires. You can send another Ping with a different category, or open the live map and contact providers directly.
What is the difference between Ping, the Live Map and Spotlight?
Ping is you asking and providers answering. The Live Map shows providers who are visible right now, so you can tap one, chat and book. Spotlight is a directory of providers who have chosen to be seen for a set time, from 4 to 72 hours.
Booking and paying
How do I book a provider?
Open a provider's profile from the map, chat with them, then book. You can follow the booking in your Bookings tab and cancel it before it is completed.
Can I pay inside Ogig?
Not yet. Agree the price and how you will pay with your provider in the chat before work starts.
Is Ogig free to use?
It is free to browse the map, send Pings and chat. Providers set their own prices, shown on their profile.
How do reviews work?
After a booking is completed, the customer can rate the provider once, from 1 to 5 stars, with an optional comment. Reviews cannot be left without a completed booking.
Something went wrong with a booking. What do I do?
Open the booking in the app and tap Report, or email [email protected] with the booking details.
Providers and vendors
How do I join as a provider or vendor?
Tap Join, choose Service Provider or Vendor / Mobile Seller, create your profile and pick your category. The Ogig team reviews new profiles before they appear on the map, and you get an email when yours is approved.
What does the Verified badge mean?
A provider has chosen to verify their identity with Ogig. Providers without the badge may still be approved and active.
What is Spotlight and how do I switch it off?
Spotlight puts you on the map for 4 to 72 hours with a message, offer and contact links. Open My Spotlight and tap Turn off at any time, or let it expire.
Account, location and support
How does Ogig use my location, and how do I delete my account?
Ogig uses your location to show who is near you and to place Pings. Providers who go live appear on the map at their location, and a customer can follow a provider's position while that provider is on the way to their booking. Read the full policy at ogig.app/privacy. To delete your account, use ogig.app/delete-account.
How do I contact support?
Use the chat button in the bottom-right corner, or email [email protected]. We aim to reply within 1 to 2 working days.
